Devil's Tower Meteor Shower - Jason J. Hatfield

The Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower over Bear Lodge, also known as Devils Tower, in the Black Hills of Wyoming. To get this image I travelled 7 hours with a friend to Wyoming from Denver to photograph the meteor shower. Using the Star Walk app on my phone I knew the tower would be a perfect spot to line up the Milky Way as a background to the meteor shower. The first night of photographing I was much further from the tower and knew I wanted it to be more prominent in the next night of shooting. I found a spot along the paved loop trail and set up the next night at the base of a boulder field. To create the image I used a spotlight to light paint the tower and combined those images with 8 more captured throughout the night using a remote timer.

SmartPhone Update

I upgraded my smartphone today. This evening I discovered my phone becomes a remote for both my televisions. (Remote 1/Bedroom and Remote 2/Living Room)

If I was a guy, I would definitely have a boner.
